EDUCATION
Since 1977, he works as a guitar teacher only at
Pera Güzel Sanatlar
and he holds the position as the Chairman of Guitar Department since 1990 and
he continues to train many students together with his two assistants
Doruk Okuyucu and Hakan
Kamalı.
In 4 years education program, he trains his students beginning
with healthy guitar playing, history of guitar, history of flamenko,
and basic right and left hand exercises and advances on flamenco, classical and
South American guitar playing depending on the student’s wishes and abilities.
Moreover since 2004, within the context of European Union (EU)
Leonardo da Vinci Education Project, he has been
nominated to choose the students who are successful and who can meet the
conditions, in order to take master class training during summer with famous
guitarists at Amor De Dios,
Madrid which is Pera’s sister school.
Pera
Güzel Sanatlar has been nominated as the
examination center for Thames Valley University College of Music and
Ilgaz Benekay also prepares his
classical guitar students who are willing to take the test in order to receive
a certificate of this school. Also he, himself is one of the graduates of
Thames
Valley
University
